Upon graduating Rutgers Law School, Walter Schmidlin began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in eastern North Carolina. He later relocated to the 11th Judicial District where he prosecuted high profile murder and drug cases to more than fifty juries in Harnett and Johnston Counties until 2005.
