He is a native of New Orleans and a Jesuit High School graduate who earned his Bachelors of Science in Pure Mathematics from Louisiana State University and his Masters of Science in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University, where he served as a National Science Foundation IGERT Research Fellow, advancing research across disciplines including structures and mechanics, textile engineering, macromolecular engineering and polymer science. He was a LaNasa Providence Law Scholar at Loyola University School of Law, where he received his Juris Doctor degree with a Certificate in Civil Law and Common Law.
