Ms. Caban-Ramirez received her juris doctorate degree from Hamline University School of Law. Prior to achieving admission to law school, Ms. Caban-Ramirez confirmed her passion in advocacy of legal and social justice through her work at diverse Twin Cities law firms. She assisted and supported lawyers in client care, civil litigation, factual investigation necessary to accurate assessment of legal claims and remedies, and day-to-day case and law office management. Today's ever accelerating social and cultural diversification in virtually every community highlight the unique and effective skills Ms. Caban-Ramirez possesses through her fluency in the Spanish language and her intimate familiarity with Latin culture, skills that enhance her ability to identify and offer creative and effective solutions to the myriad legal problems diversification inevitably generates. Ms. Caban-Ramirez's astute recognition of the difficulties and opportunities arising as the new millennium continues to foster this diversification worldwide through a retreat from global isolation to increasing global interaction and interdependence inspired her to participate as a 2003 summer intern with the International Development Law Organization in Rome, Italy where she participated in and conducted research on a variety of evolving international legal issues.
In addition to her law school education, Ms. Caban-Ramirez graduated in 1998, Summa Cum Laude, from the University of Minnesota where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Latin American Studies, Spanish, and Political Science. Ms. Caban-Ramirez has been throughout her education an active and passionate participant in student political and social organizations, both as a member and as a leader. She has been the recipient of numerous scholastic scholarships and awards.
Ms. Caban-Ramirez was born in Puerto Rico, where she spent her childhood and much of her teenage years. Those formative years are her grounding and Puerto Rico will always claim an uncontested part of her heart. Compassionate and caring, a lifelong student of the intricacies and mysteries of social interaction, it is no surprise Ms. Caban-Ramirez is in addition to a dedicated and focused student of the law, a Poet, a personal talent that will undoubtedly inure to the benefit of her clients.
