About Shad Brown

Shad M. Brown, J.D., LLM, is a managing partner of the Brown Naegle Crider & Jensen Law Firm. Shad’s practice is concentrated in estate planning, tax planning, tax controversy and qualified domestic relation orders. Prior to forming Brown & Jensen, Shad was an attorney with the Dana Law Firm. It was there Shad established a premier tax practice for the firm involving complex tax planning and tax controversy resolution. Before entering private practice, Shad worked as an attorney at the IRS’s Office of Chief Counsel where he represented the IRS in civil and criminal tax matters. Shad’s experience includes work on various federal tax issues, including but not limited to personal income tax, partnership tax, corporate tax, transfer tax (i.e., estate, gift and generation skipping), tax-exempt organizations, tax penalties/additions to tax, financial crimes, forfeitures, liens and levies.

Shad has experience in Tax Controversy which includes, IRS audit support, IRS appeals, tax litigation, offers in compromise and installment agreements. Shad also has experience in tax planning, estate planning, trust administration, probate, guardianships, conservatorships and QDROs. Shad enjoys helping people tackle tax problems of all types. Shad is a member of the Tax Section of the Arizona Bar.

Education and Personal Background: Shad received his Masters of Laws in Taxation, or LLM, from the University of Florida, Levin College of Law in 2008. While attending the University of Florida, Shad worked as editor of the Florida Tax Review, one of the nation’s preeminent tax publications. Shad received his law degree from Mississippi College School of law (JD, Magna Cum Laude, 2007) where he graduated 5th in his class. Shad served as Executive Editor of the Mississippi College Law Review Journal. Shad received his undergraduate degree in 2004 (B.S., Business-Marketing).
