About Robert King

Bob graduated from Georgetown University magna cum laude. After college, he was awarded a Rotary International Fellowship and studied at the University of Lisbon in Portugal.

Upon returning to the U.S., Bob worked for several years and then attended the University of Chicago Law School where he graduated with Honors.

Since graduation, Bob has practiced labor & employment law in Orange County, California. In 2003, he founded Legally Nanny, the leading law firm providing legal and tax advice to household employers and domestic employment and homecare agencies.

Bob represents household employers, domestic employment and homecare agencies, businesses and individuals in a wide variety of legal matters, including defending against claims and litigation from employees and charges and investigations from government agencies.

Bob advises clients on hiring, evaluation, accommodation and termination matters; wage and hour issues; workplace policies, handbooks, agreements and contracts; and resolving client and business disputes. Bob also serves as the General Counsel for the Association of Premier Nanny Agencies, on the Board of Directors for the International Nanny Association, as an active member of the National Private Duty Association, and has served as an expert witness in HR and household employment matters, including calculating the cost of childcare in divorce proceedings.

Legally Nanny has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, CNN, ABC News, USA Today, The Chicago Tribune, Parenting Magazine, Entertainment Tonight, Kiplinger's Personal Finance, Parenthood.com, The Street.com, KABC L.A. Channel 7 News, The New York Daily News, L.A. and Bay Area Parent Magazines, California Lawyer, The Los Angeles Daily Journal, Los Angeles Lawyer, Orange County Lawyer, and the Family Law News of the California Bar's Family Law Section. Bob also contributed to the books "How To Hire & Retain Your Household Help," "How To Hire A Nanny," and "Help!! How To Find, Hire, Train & Maintain Your Household Help." Bob has lectured and written extensively on household employment legal and tax issues.
