About Regina Von Gootkin

Regina von Gootkin has been with Brown, Paindiris & Scott since her first year of law school and practices primarily in the firm's Commercial Law Department focusing on real estate, commercial transactions and intellectual property. Her services include business formation, mergers and acquisitions, trademark and copyright filings, trade secret law, non-competition law, landlord/tenant law and commercial and residential real estate closings. Attorney von Gootkin graduated with honors from the University of Connecticut School of Law in May, 2009. During law school, Attorney von Gootkin specialized in intellectual property law. For two semesters she worked as a student associate at the Intellectual Property and Entrepreneurship Clinic (IPEC) helping Connecticut small business owners with their intellectual property issues. Starting in the Fall of 2014, she has returned to UConn Law as an adjunct professor, working as a Supervising Clinical Attorney with the IPEC clinic counseling students and clients in trademark and copyright matters. Regina spoke at the "Intellectual Property and Creative Small and Medium Sized Enterprises in the Digital Environment" conference at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva, Switzerland in May 2008. Attorney von Gootkin also completed UConn Law's Intellectual Property Certificate Program. She holds a bachelors degree in Journalism and Political Science from the University of Connecticut - Storrs. Regina is a member of BNI-Building Alliances, Farmington, a member of the Glastonbury YMCA Board of Directors and serves as a mentor for the Bristol Public Schools. She is a regular speaker at Central Connecticut Chamber of Commerce events regarding small business law and real estate. She is also the author of two books, Controversial Court Cases, Parts I & II.
