Michelle Kalil Taylor is a native and lifelong resident of Jacksonville, Florida. After graduating from Wolfson High School in Jacksonville, Michelle received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Florida. Michelle continued her education at University of Florida where she also attended law school and obtained her Juris Doctorate degree. While in law school, Michelle was a highly active and recognized member of the nationally competitive Moot Court team.
For the past 13 years, Michelle has dedicated her practice defending those accused of crimes. Michelle began her criminal defense practice by immediately serving as an assistant public defender in Jacksonville upon leaving law school. While at the public defender's office, she represented clients in every aspect of criminal law and eventually served as a division chief for several years, which required her to supervise and mentor less experienced attorneys. She also handled all varieties of criminal cases, from the most serious felonies such as homicide cases, to less serious misdemeanors. Michelle has effectively and successfully defended numerous individuals and been a strong and zealous advocate for her clients, having participated in over 50 jury trials.
Michelle was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1998 and is a member of the Middle District Court of Florida. She is active in the Jacksonville Bar Association, Jacksonville Women Lawyers Association and a member of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
