About Kimberly Laseter

Kim Laseter is an experienced criminal law attorney serving clients in the DFW area.

A former felony prosecutor in Denton County and a former chief felony prosecutor in Collin County, she not only knows the law, but also how to best to navigate the complex criminal justice system to protect and defend your rights.

In her 14 years as a criminal prosecutor Kim has handled thousands of cases and more than 100 jury trials in cases ranging from driving while intoxicated offenses, to aggravated robbery, aggravated sexual assault, child sexual assault, and murder. As the chief felony prosecutor of Collin County’s Domestic Violence Unit, Kim was responsible for some of the most difficult and emotionally charged cases in North Texas.

Whether safeguarding the defenseless as a Crimes Against Children prosecutor, or as chief of the Collin County Mental Health unit looking out for the welfare of those struggling with the burden of mental illness, Kim understands what it means to stand up for the vulnerable in our community.

Kim’s understanding that sometimes good people can find themselves in difficult situations, and her belief in second chances, lead her to passionately administer the nation’s only district attorney-led Opioid Treatment Diversion Program, building a pathway for people to get their lives back through the latest medical treatments, and having their drug charges dismissed and criminal records expunged.

Kim has conducted state-level training for both law enforcement and attorneys, and is a member of the Texas Bar College, an honor allotted to only the top 4% of Texas lawyers and judges.
