As a product of the Northeast educational establishment, I moved to Colorado in 1981 and have practiced law in El Paso County ever since. My small firm has handled large transactions, but normally builds on experience to provide entrepreneurs, small businesses and individuals with personal quality guidance and legal service. I do not provide litigation services, but refer clients other firms for litigation.
Without interrupting my law practice, I served as El Paso County Commissioner from 1995 to 2003. During that time, I collaboratively led Colorado's implementation of Welfare Reform and Child Welfare Reform and represented the National Association of Counties before Congress.
Since 1985 my wife and I have run Wings Like Eagles, a small nonprofit teaching leadership and Christian character to youth. I recently received a Lifetime Service Award from the Colorado Republican Party. I have volunteered for many organizations and non-profits over the years. I facilitate a weekly men's Bible study, and have been an elder in my local church.
I am an avid skier and mountain biker.
In a prior career, I practiced architecture and managed architectural research in energy conservation and solar energy.
