About Devon Richards

DEVON RICHARDS is an experienced civil litigator currently focusing on complex business and probate/trust disputes for high net worth individuals. Devon seeks to implement targeted pre-litigation and litigation strategies concentrated on progressing matters to favorable and efficient resolutions.

In her business litigation work, Devon has experience in a wide range of claims including breach of contract and contract interpretation issues, shareholder disputes and freeze-outs, breaches of fiduciary duty, intellectual property disputes including trademarks and trade secrets, bad faith insurance claims, and consumer protection claims.

In her work on probate- and trust-related disputes, Devon has litigated issues involving testamentary capacity, undue influence, financial elder abuse, Florida’s Slayer Statute, estate/trust administration and accounting disputes, and personal representative and trustee removal disputes.

Devon earned both of her degrees, a B.S.C. in Journalism and Political Science and a J.D., from the University of Miami in 2005 and 2008, respectively. Devon began her career as a trial court law clerk in West Palm Beach, Florida, before entering private practice where she focused on legal malpractice defense of large regional law firms. In 2013, Devon continued her career in Seattle, Washington, where she grew her concentration to include complex litigation for and against Fortune 100 corporations and high net worth individuals. In 2018, Devon returned to Florida and joined Purcell, Flanagan, Hay & Greene.
