About Cindy Perusse

My passion for the political arena and the legal system has always been a driving force behind my decision to become a lawyer. My focus on family law was established early on in my career, as I received an influx of clients requiring my assistance with their cases. This area of law piqued my interest as it allowed me to aid individuals in the midst of their most heart-rending situations and witness them emerge from it with a newfound sense of peace and confidence.

I do not shy away from the intense emotions that often accompany divorce cases. I also enjoy the process of calculating income, assets, debts, and figuring out a fair division of property.

I obtained my Bachelor's degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and completed my law degree at the Hamline University School of Law. I attended specialized training in family law mediation through the well-known Hamline University Mediation Center, and received advanced litigation training through the Family Law Trial Advocacy program at the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law.

Volunteer service in the community is important to me. I enjoy helping those who cannot afford to hire an attorney by donating my time at various free legal clinics, such as the military veterans’ legal clinic and metro volunteer lawyers domestic relations clinic in Denver. I am a former foster parent and Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), supporting, encouraging, and providing a voice to kids in the foster care system.

I was born and raised in Minnesota and have lived in southern and northern California. I have finally settled in the great state of Colorado, with my family, which includes my husband, our adult son, and our soft-coated wheaten terrier. I enjoy hiking, skiing, snowboarding, traveling, and watching our son play hockey.
