Bryan Hawkins grew up in central Ohio and attended Dublin Schools. After graduating from high school in Cincinnati, Mr. Hawkins returned to central Ohio to attend The Ohio State University. There, he studied history and graduated from O.S.U. with a Bachelor of Arts degree. While attending Ohio State, Mr. Hawkins grew increasingly interested in the law and decided to attend law school. Mr. Hawkins graduated Cum Laude from Capital University Law School in 2011 and was admitted to the Ohio Bar that same year.
During law school, Bryan Hawkins worked as a law clerk in the Common Pleas division of the Franklin County Public Defender Office. In that capacity, he assisted attorneys in the defense of clients charged with felony crimes. During his time as a law clerk, Mr. Hawkins decided to dedicate his career to the practice of criminal defense.
Shortly after being sworn-in, Bryan Hawkins was hired as an attorney in the Municipal Unit of the Franklin Public Defender Office. Over the next seven years, Mr. Hawkins represented thousands of clients in cases which included minor traffic violations, DUI / OVI offenses, and serious vehicular crimes. He also handled a wide range of criminal offenses, including shoplifting, assault, domestic violence, drug offenses, sex crimes, theft, and underage alcohol consumption. He brings that same level of knowledge and dedication to every case he handles now.
